A large and beautifully detailed antique decorative glass panel, believed to date from the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
The central roundel is hand-painted with a romantic landscape showing a waterfall, stone bridge, trees and distant mountains. It is surrounded by an elaborate blue and gold border with scrolling foliage. The pale background also has a delicate repeating etched pattern.The painting is of the highest calibre of the period.
The glass is set within a substantial painted timber frame. Its scale and design would make it a striking feature in an entrance hall, glazed screen or period interior.
Overall size including frame: approximately 1975 mm high × 1000 mm wide.
