Ye Olde Bird in Hand was a historic tavern located at 17 Long Acre in Covent Garden, established as early as 1691. The popular pub was a fixture in the area for centuries before being photographed in 1954 and demolished shortly thereafter, with the site now occupied by modern retail, including a TK Maxx.History and LocationLocation: The pub was situated at 17 Long Acre, close to the center of Covent Garden.Age: Records indicate the tavern existed from the late 17th century, with 1691 cited as a key date in its history.Significance: It was a well-documented historic pub in the area and was present in records through 1765 and beyond.Demolition: The pub was demolished following 1954, as shown in historical photographs of the period
